| Q: | Who is responsible for maintaining the tree in front of my house? |
| A: | The Department of Parks & Recreation is responsible for maintaining all public trees located within the street right of way. Trees located between the street curb and the sidewalk are always within the right of way. Trees located adjacent to the sidewalk on the building side may be public trees depending on the width of the street right of way.

| Q: | How can I volunteer to help the trees in Burlington? |
| A: | The Department works closely with a volunteer citizen’s organization called Branch Out Burlington! This organization is dedicated to sustaining a healthy urban forest in Burlington and promoting educational programs and opportunities. For information on BOB!, visit their website at www.branchoutburlington.org

| Q: | Can I get a tree planted in the greenbelt in front of my house? |
| A: | It may be possible. We will have to inspect the location to make sure that there is enough space to support a full-grown tree. We will look at the width of the greenbelt, proximity of driveways, utility poles, signs and other possible utilities and obstructions. Contact City Arborist Warren Spinner at (802)862-8245 to request a review of your area as a possible street tree planting site.
|
| Q: | My tree does not look healthy; what should I do? |
| A: | Contact City Arborist Warren Spinner at (802)862-8245 to report the tree. Warren or one of the Arborist Technicians, who are certified Arborists, will inspect the tree and report their findings back to you.
